Qonnectis announces free trial pilot scheme

Qonnectis plc (“Qonnectis”), a market-leader in multi-utility smart metering, announces the launch of a unique pilot scheme of its Web-based technology solutions, specifically aimed at water utilities and their Key Customer accounts.

In response to the ever-increasing requirement for water conservation, water companies’ Key Account Managers are being incentivised to provide their major customers with value-added services, such as flow monitoring equipment and remote data collection. Qonnectis has successfully developed an offering to meet this requirement in the form of Qonnectis Complete for Key Customers, a fully integrated service from meter to desktop. As part of the service, Qonnectis will provide universal intelligent data loggers, which collect the flow data, and a web site to deliver the information without compromising the water company’s existing IT infrastructure. A range of full installation, site support, data collection and management services provide Key Customers with a comprehensive package.

Mick Merrick, Director of Business Development for Water commented, “Qonnectis Complete for Key Customers allows water utilities to quickly and easily provide a range of value-added and branded services to their most important clients, maximising customer service and introducing opportunities to generate additional revenues. Today there is a very real need for effective water conservation solutions and this scheme will play an important role in helping water utilities and their largest customers to tackle the problems they face, head on.”

The free trial, launching in September, will be available to each of the main water companies for allocation to any one of their Key Customer accounts.

Editors’ notes - About Qonnectis

Qonnectis’ patented technologies enable the analysis of remote meter data to facilitate water leakage control, customer profiling, and energy and water management efficiency. Its products are already being used by a wide range of UK and overseas utilities including Scottish Water, Cambridge Water, Aquavitae, Generale des Eaux and Lyonnaise des Eaux as well as large commercial and domestic users of energy or water.

The iStaq family of products work by sending meter readings to Qonnectis’ secure data centre via SMS text messaging over the GSM network. The data is then aggregated and published online via utility-branded “myMeter” websites operated by Qonnectis. The data can also be sent directly to utilities’ billing systems. Customers can access real-time information via a web browser using the “myMeter” service.
