Harrimans installed a system for process monitoring.
Harrimans is a Hong-Kong based property and facilities management business with some of the territory’s most notable buildings and developments under its control, such as World Trade Square. In 2005 Harrimans installed the Qonnectis system for energy and process monitoring.

Very soon after the commencement of installations Harrimans found areas where it could improve its building management to reduce their costs. In particular, Qonnectis iStaq data loggers are connected to air conditioning chillers and electricity meters. The combined data has allowed Harrimans to spot areas of inefficient chiller operation and hence has been able to reduce its energy bills by taking remedial action.

As well as showing quick and valuable benefits in terms of cost savings and lower energy consumption, this case study is also a powerful example of multi-site benchmarking. Multi-site organisations can compare their various installations. This allows them to spot anomalies where sites are not performing to their optimum, and also allows best practise to be spread throughout an organisation. Enterprises like Harrimans can therefore be proactive in their energy consumption and business processes, leading to better performance of their business overall. When energy prices are increasing as rapidly as they have been in recent years, accumulative savings on multiple sites can become substantial over time and impact very positively on the bottom line.
